Bavaria, Kingdom. A Merit Cross For Medical Volunteers GTRexclude Instituted 1864 by Queen Isabel(Verdienstkreuz fr freiwillige Krankenpflege). Instituted on 5 March 1901. A silver cross patte, with the imperial crown on the upper cross arm, the obverse centre presents a medallion with a red Geneva cross on a white field enclosed by a blue enamelled ring, the reverse centre presents the Bavarian coat of arms, measuring 34. 75 mm (w) x 41. 95 mm (h), on loop for suspension from period original ribbon, and in near very fine condition.
